The RCMP Officer on coaches corner tonight who passed away

He was my cousin, had no idea that would be on there tonight and the segment caught me a bit off guard. He was a good man and a huge Habs fan.

Anyways, it felt good to see Cherry talk about him that way, I'll tell his family on Monday that I posted a little something here for him.

I am an RCMP Officer myself and can say that it does hurt like a member of our own immediate family when we lose an officer.

We've lost 2 now in 2 days. Which was your cousin?

Sorry to hear about that, terrible news.

Of course there are those people who whine when Cherry has those segments. I call them idiots.

My condolensenses as well...

Cherry should stick to things like this...he's certainly much better opiniated at our troops/rcmp, etc than his hockey knowledge

My sister is a member and I can attest that the RCMP is a tight group when it comes to such events. She went to the funeral of the 4 officers who were ambushed and killed in Alberta a few years ago.

I'm as far as it gets to being a fan of Don Cherry but that's one thing that he does that I truly respect, praising the men and women in uniform.

One of my best friends is a Mountie, I remember going to his grad. ceremony in Regina, you hate to imagine it happening to anyone. My sympathies.
