How about Satellite Radio?

I don't think that this has ever been brought up before, but would it be nice to have some AHL games in place of the NHL games on some satellite radio services? I think that Sirius has a deal to broadcast NHL games\related shows, why not AHL if no NHL?

Because Sirius knows there wouldn't be nearly the same market for AHL games vs. the NHL. We already know the NHL doesn't garner ratings that pro bowling does. Why would Sirius waste bandwidth something only a few of us would listen to.

For what it's worth, I'd definitely tune in, but most wouldn't.

Sirius doesn't sell commercial space so ratings aren't a huge deal for them.

One idea is to check AHL team websites once the season is up and running. Some of them stream their local radio broadcasts online.

But they have to address to largest common audience within reason. Not that I wouldn't like to see it, but if they add AHL hockey streams, they may as well add a couple of 100 other programming options as well for niche' audiences.

Sirius may not care about selling commercial time, but they do care about how many subs it would attract. AHL hockey would do next to nothing for them.

I love Sirius!!!! Listening to all the NHL games last year was great and I would be really happy to hear AHL games as well. I doubt they will it them though.. but who knows. Anyone who doesn't have Sirius should definitly check it out!
