Roberto Luongo

The guy wants to win a cup.

He let his team down this year, and you can expect Vancouver will be making changes in the off-season. Assuming he continues to have a chip on his shoulder and doesn't re-sign this off-season, Vancouver should seriously look at moving him.

What do you think he could land?

Jeff Carter? I would think that Philly and Vancouver would make pretty good trading partners in a Luongo deal. Imagine a division with Lundqvist, Broduer, and Luongo.

So what else would it take? Its not like offering Jeff Carter isn't a good starting point, and worth a tad more conversation than just a "hell no", don't ya think?

Well Carter maybe value out around Luongo I see a possible deal similar to the one that brought Bobby Lu here.

To Philly - Roberto Luongo, Shane O'Brien

To Van - Jeff Carter, Ryan Parent, and a conditonal pick (depending on Luongo resigning)

Generally the team trading the best player loses the trade.

And any trade involving Luongo would have him probably being the best player.

Look at his last two trades. Both his former teams lost those.

I think it would be extremely difficult for Vancouver to get good value for him right now.

Only way I see him being traded, next season at the trade deadline and the Canucks are way out of the playoff picture. He will likely be traded than on a contract year.

This season, I would bet my life he wont be traded, but anything can happen.

Any trade would involve a top prospect and/or a high draft pick, as Vancouver trading Luongo would likely signal a rebuild.

I'd like Riemsdyk, tbh. Jeff would replace Mats, and JVR on Cody's wing could be Vancouver's own little version of the oh-so vibrant Kane-Toews tandem.

I asked of the Canucks fans twice, sincerely, whether Pietrangelo for Luongo was a fair trade. None have replied in any way.

Based on his last 6 games only ... If he wants to win a cup he needs to find a team with a top notch starting goalie.

Cracks me up how much flak I took for pointing out Louie's issues, now threads like these are popping up.

Before this series he was untouchable unless he voluntarily left in UFA. Now, he has one year left and a fan base comprised of some of whom blame him for the series loss, some of whom do not. Those that do say his entire value is premised on winning games exactly like this, therefore he has less value.

I was offering the top prospect from the best prospect pool in the league, and while not everyone agrees, some think is the single best prospect. I consider that "giving to get," definitely painful for both sides. Felt it was worth discussion or worth a serious, explanation why not. Those that don't think "Arguably Best Prospect for Luongo" in a "Value of Luongo" thread is even a serious offer should explain why. All trades are calculated risks, after all.

I think that if DET can get a star goalie, they will become a dynasty.

Datsyuk, McCollum, 2009 1st for Luongo

Luongo on Detroit would ruin my life, but they are not losing Datsyuk for anything.
