a Vancouver group wants to move Atlanta to Hamilton lol

HAMILTON A Vancouver-based hockey group is interested in relocating the financially-troubled Atlanta Thrashers to Hamilton, the Spectator has learned.

Hamilton Mayor Fred Eisenberger is expected to meet with the second hockey group on Monday.

Eisenberger wouldn't disclose any details of the second group, believed to be led by Vancouver developer Tom Gaglardi, or when the meeting would take place.

But an inside hockey source told the Spectator that Gaglardi is interested in moving the Thrashers to Hamilton, possibly in time for the 2010 season.

Will Hamilton end up with 20 teams?

It will be funny when in 2011, hamiltonians are still left without an NHL team.

How do they decide who is home team when one Hamilton team plays the other?

Hamilton is like the ugly girl in school who suddenly develops a nice rack in her last year and everyone wants to shag her.

The same way they do it when the Islanders are playing against the Rangers?

Still a stupid idea though. The problem is that aren't many places outside of Hamilton that could support a NHL team, and that I doubt MLSE will allow Hamilton to have a team.
Quebec City needs a new arena, then they should get the next Canadian team. Winnipeg has a good enough arena, but I remember reading about other kinds of problems that make it an unattractive place for an NHL team.
I don't think we'll be getting a new Canadian team any time soon.

And they will all probably fail before the NHL brings another team to Canada

I think Kansas City might actually be a good place.
