Before and after he says
"Due to a rule I just wrote and passed myself, the Pittsburgh Penguins have been awarded the first three picks of this years 2009 NHL Entry Draft."
Which allows them to select Tavares, Hedman and Duchesne.

our booing will ironically return us to "classiest fans in the league" status

after this whole phoenix thing and his insistence on amercian expansion and double standards vis a vis Canada (remember, he was all too happy to move them from Winnipeg) I am at an all time high of hate for this buffoon. Honestly, sometimes I agree with him and see his pov on certain things, but he really is premier ****** and imagine you didn't know who he was, heard him speak and were asked...what sport do you think he's the commissioner of? Last thing I would think is hockey.

booooooo

LOL..hilarious! we are known for our amazing presentations. Would be fitting. Then Jean permits him to wear 4 and we hear "haaaaallelujiah" resonate through the room.

Forget it. Gainey would be booed for trading home boy Laraque to draft another anglo kid

The whole agenda has gotten to the fans.
Well yeah i'm going to be ashamed and pissed if this happens. That would really give the rest of us a bad name and we really don't need that right now since Montreal's reputation ain't exactly at an all time high.

That said booing Bettman happens pretty much everywhere and it's no big deal. Gary doesn't really care and he even like to play the crowd which is funny.

It'll probably end up being Bill Daley at the draft, excusing Bettman for the day, home sick with the "swine flu".

Bettman will make sure he gets quickly to his greetings of the greatest fans in hockey and congrats to the Habs for their Centennial and glorious history and all that in an attempt to forestall the booing.

Other guys, you might think they can get an advance sense of how these things will go, and maybe they'd let Jean Beliveau stand in to open the draft or something. But not Bettman. He actually seems to like the boos he gets every year.

I'll try my best to be there and I won't boo Bettman, but I'm sure some people will. Not sure what the goal of booing him would be, since it has been done before and other than stalling the draft and embarassing the league it won't help anything at all.

I emailed the Habs asking about tickets a few weeks ago...

Not long enough!!! All Canadian Cities he goes to should boo him for not allowing more Canadian teams in the NHL. With the right owner and in a city like Hamilton, Winnipeg or even Quebec City....it should be no problem to support a hockey team in the new Salary Cap NHL.

Bettman needs to forget about trying to make hockey work in non-hockey markets in the US and he needs to give Canadian Hockey fans what they deserve....more NHL teams in Canadian cities.
