Washington is one of the few places in which he does make sense. I don't think they're getting rid of him for anything but another albatross contract or by giving up assets to compensate anyways, might as well stick out the year.

Think Montreal would take Theo , as it looks like Price could use as similar system?

Just a terrible job by Washington management.

I would sign 10 Redden's before 1 Theodore. At least Redden had a great 2nd half and playoffs. Theodore was awful all year long.

Washington's best bet is to just buy him out.
If you attempted to sign 10 Redden's you would be over the cap, Mr. Hyperbole.

Theodore is a low-end starter who can occasionally steal games. You sell him much too short as a backup goaltender.

The worst of the entire offseason. Really? A 2yr deal at 4.5. The worst. Really?

Lets see...the Rags take a 6.5 hit until 2014 for Redden. Theo at 2 million less is gone next season....but he's the worst huh?

Cristobal Huet....a "backup" is getting 5.675 million until 2012....but Theo's the worst? Really?

I am so glad you don't run a front office.

Actually, if the Oilers can't land any other decent netminder this offseason, I wouldn't mind seeing Theodore in Copper and Blue. FTR, I am not a Roloson fan, and I personally can see him signing somewhere like Detroit for a 1 year run.

The Caps would have to take a bad contract or so from Edmonton though... maybe Staios + for Theodore +. I'm not sure the value, and I don't generally make proposals, but would something like that work?

Honestly, if Theo were to be moved...I just don't see GMGM moving him for a player that has a longer term than Theo. Its not like Staios contract is sooo outrageous, but this move would be done to generate some cap room.

My guess it would be for a pick or unless the Caps would just use him as a tandem with Varlamov for the remaining year and then let him go after next season.

That would be great. Theodore is terrible. Him and Price would make quite the pair.

They should keep him.

Of course Varlamov played extremely well but he still needs some seasoning and i don't think he is ready to be a starter.

they might be able to flip him at the deadline for a draft pick to a team just trying to make th eplayoffs in need of a goaltender.

Funny to see all the uninformed opinions on Theodore. It's like people judging Poti based on his NYR days.

Why would anyone want Theodore honestly, other than a team like the Avs who have nothing better but I still wouldnt want him.

If the guys who have an "uninformed" opinion are those who claim Theodore stinks, then I would like to know why they are wrong. He has failed consistently on 3 different teams since 2005.
