http://www.newyorkislanders.com/news/koalska081004.html

In my research it did suprise me a bit that the Preds took a pass on Koalska.

I expected that many college seniors weren't going to get signed by Nashville going into a lockout/strike, didn't surprise me one bit that he wasn't signed by Nashville

Like I said, I think it was a mistake by the Preds to let him go, but we'll see in the future I guess.

Shero said that age and cost were primary factor in Preds not signing college players this season. Said also that almost all European prospects were expected to stay overseas. Major cost-cutting though Shero did like Koalska. Think this monetary decision over playing decision will end up biting Preds in the future. Isles are better system for Koalska though, he can use all his skills there.

I think we were all surprised we didn't sign him, especially when our center depth is taken into consideration. Oh well, I just hope the same doesn't happen to Stehlik and many of our other mid-range prospects.

I'm glad he got signed, but it's a damn shame we let him go. You can never have enough players like him in the system. At the very least, he's a tradeable asset.
