OK Hockey is looking for investors to help pay down the debt that they incurred buying the team. Article notes that they borrowed $130M out of the $200M to purchase the team, with $97M coming from PS&E. Most of this is garbage spewed from Barrie's mouth, but I would guess that there's some truth to this.
Also, mentions how additional investors would allow them to use the money spent on interest and debt payments to be used towards player salaries. of course, this draws in the Lecavalier monster contract that starts this summer.
There's just too much talk for too long for this not to have some legitmacy. It's too bad Koules wasn't available for comment. He at least talks like he has a brain. Barrie always says the dumbest things.
If this ownership keeps signing top level players to longterm, expensive contracts and dealing them before the contract kicks in, they'll never attract top talent free agents. We'll be right back to 1998-2001.

heck, I'm not sure I'll renew season tickets this year. Between the economy and having a bunch of jackasses running the team, I'm not sure I want to give them $1000 again.

You can give me 1000 dollars and i've find 41 badass ways to watch hockey games around the bay area.
They could probably raise a lot of money for the team by having one of those "Pie in the Face" or water dunking contraptions featuring, Barrie, Artyukhin, Marek Malik my balls, Koci.
And Tokala, I agree, I actually like listening to Koules. I'd vote for you to renew your season tickets though, then we are $1,000 out of $10,000,000 of the way there to keeping Vinny. On second thought, its also $1,000 out of $3,000,000 to paying Vrbata, lalalalalalala I'll just ignore that last part.

I'd actually like to see Vrbata come back and perform under a coach who actually knows something about hockey.
Gee, the Lightning called today to tell me that they made a mistake on my renewal. They admitted that Row M in the Forum is $239, even in sections 314-318. My renewal had my seats at $959 while Row M everywhere else was $239. I bet they wouldn't have refunded the difference if I had already paid.
So, I'll invest my season tickets into another year of OK Hockey.
