Zubov may come over to Russia as all the power teams are interested in him. the ? is whether he still thinks he can play in the NHL and subject his body to the pounding or finish his career in Russia for comparable money and may be reserve a spot on the Olympics team in Vancouver.
Not a big loss for the league, or the Caps. Too bad that he never became better, than he was. Guy had all the tools, but was lazy.
I don't think he was lazy at all, he played with some of the best players in the game in Bure and Ovy and instead of using his cannon of a shot, he'd always look for the pass since he was good with that as well. He'd drive me crazy when he was a Panther, but I wish him the best.

Fedorov gone too eh. Well that means Nylander stays as they now have cap space and no one will take that deal anyways
Both Kozlov and Fedorov are UFAs. Not sure why some others are talking about this move like it created cap space. All it does is solidify the fact that neither player will be back. Of course, neither player was likely to be brought back even if they had stayed in the NHL. Fedorov maybe, if he took a 50% paycut down to $2m. But that wasn't likely.

When's the last time he suited up for Russia?
I remember he had a boycott going on in recent tourneys, not sure if that's still intact.

Guy has sizes, skill and smarts (Ovy said, that Kozlov is one of the smartest players with whom he have played). Kozlov had all the components, but still he was a 2nd line player at best. I assume that he just wasn't ready to play all 82 games at full power. Maybe I'm wrong, but I always had this feeling about Kozlov.
I think Kozzie gets an undeserved bad rep on here. He never seemed lazy in his stay in Washington. Used his body well along the boards, and was great at maintaining puck possession. I think he could play on a scoring line on any team in the league and be successful. He's just one of those types of players that is, and always will be in a supporting role. Solid player, great person.
