Good signing. Jay improved his defensive game this past year and he had a career high in goals scored.

I'm glad to see him get a good payday. I met and chatted with him when he was playing for the Brampton Battalion, and he seemed like a great guy.

To think, this time last year, me, IB, and very few others defended McClement. Now the fans got to see what he's capable of on both sides of the puck and they aren't so negative now.

Yea. I feel like about a damn quarter of my posts have been in defense of Jay McClement. Dude is heart and soul. Increases his goal scoring every year with worse linemates and more difficult assignments. Is one of the premiere faceoff-men, penalty killers, and shutdown forwards in the league. And he wore an A for a good chunk of the season. Not flashy, but he's a very important player for the Blues.

Completely agree. I think people underestimate how much of a leader McClement actually is. People scream for Backes as future captain, but I wouldn't be surprised to see McClement snatch the "C" before Backes.

Burrows at 2 is seeming more and more like a steal.

Great for Jay though!

Good signing. He's a solid defensive forward and this is a reasonable contract as well.

St. Louis re-signs Jay McClement

Multi-year deal, no terms announced. McClement was scheduled to become a RFA this summer.

No worries.

Get an iPhone or a Crackberry and you'll never be out of the loop again.
