yea im basically grasping at straws in order to get arnott and get rid of zubrus other players can be added into the deal within reason

Pretty much we wont take Zubrus unless you take some garbage back, and right now we have no bad contracts or anything. 3.4 million for a 15 goal scorer is not going to fly in Nashville.

If you wanted us to take Zubrus and we agreed it would be like

Zubrus + NJ 3rd for Nsh 4th.

For Arnott it would be something like Zajac, Bergfors and NJ 2nd.

zajac >/= arnott so thats just not gonna happen but i wouldnt mind doin that first proposal

I figured Devils fans would say that Arnott proposal wouldnt happen and I really don't blame you guys. Zajac could very well become what Arnott is and adding more is just icing on the cake for Nashville, but for another team to get our proven leader and 35 goal scorer we are going to need a good young player to fill the hole and some extras like a good prospect and a pick.

Now for Zubrus, I would be interested in him but the price tag really isnt good for Nashville right now and depending on the resignings we could use him now but if some forwards get resigned that could change.

I'm not gonna compare the values of Arnott and Zajac. All I will say is trading Zajac would defeat the purpose of the Devils trading for another center right now. They have one solid center in Zajac, and they need two.

I may be in the minority, but I wouldn't deal a significant piece for Arnott. He's already 34 and plays a power forward type of game. The general wear and tear on his body of a forward that plays a game like his means that he should decline sooner rather than later. Of course it would be great to have him back, but I would rather sign him as a free agent then deal younger players for him.

I would love to see Arnott in red again. He's signed for two more seasons, so it would cost the Devils right now.

Nashville's purpose isn't to make the Devils better, so most of these proposals are bunk.

Bergfors, picks, and especially Zubrus are of no interest if Arnott is going the other way. He's signed for two more years to a reasonable 4.5 per, he's our captain, and he scored 32 goals this year despite missing two big chunks of time. If you don't want to include names like Zajac, then the conversation ends and we amicably agree to move on. As much as it would be nice to acquire Arnott without giving anything of substantial value up\anything it would hurt to lose, it won't happen. And acquiring Arnott while ALSO dumping useless Zubrus is even less likely.
