Andres Ambühl to Edmonton, Chicago or Toronto?

There is a rumor on a Swiss hockey news site [1] that the NHL teams of Edmonton, Chicago and Toronto announced their interest in the Swiss HC Davos winger Andres Ambühl to his agent Enrico Triulzi. It is stated that the scouts of these teams are going to keep an eye on him at the world championships. Ambühl has an exit clause in his contract with HC Davos coming into effect if he accepts an offer from outside of Switzerland.

In the last weeks there were rumors he may sign a contract with Färjestads BK, but according to this article he turned them down and is not willing to move to Sweden and will stay with HC Davos if he does not sign a NHL contract.

Oilers do need to fix their farm team, I guess.

Toronto might as well take a chance on him. Can't hurt.

Aren't the Oilers at their 50 contract limit?

He looked good on the small ice at WC in Quebec, but I doubt he'd have an impact in the NHL.

Therewith is clear: The World Cup becomes for the NHL future Ambühls decisively. "Büeli" has an exit clause in the HCD for the NHL. It will get only a NHL two way contract with the corresponding Anfangssalär in every trap, its market value is after deduction of the taxes first of all about round 400,000 francs. Through that drifted must it no longer because it plays already in a pro league. For it, no Draftrecht must way given become therefore. That makes it for the NHL interesting and it is thoroughly possible that even further NHL managers will report themselves. The decision whether it gets a contract, will please to be sure hardly the end of June ago.

If the change not realization to North America, Ambühl in Davos remains. A change to Sweden is in accordance with its agent no subject. Corresponding offers already three months ago definitively had been kicked and had been announced that also so to the HCD.

So we don't sign Omark because of his size, and then make a play for this small kid a few weeks later? I don't understand our management at all.

I think the Oilers just didn't sign Omark because he was offered 10 million to play closer to home..

I wish the Sabres would sign some collage kids. Like the head of Gilroy with the body of....Andrew Orpik.

No he is getting paid 1.1-1.2M per year compared to the NHL 875K per season. And Edmonton wanted him to play half of the season on the farm and the other in the NHL (presuming he can perform in the AHL). Obviously Omark wasn't impressed so he went to the KHL. Nothing to do with being closer to home.

I think you mean AHL/ECHL guys---collage kids can't sign contracts till after they leave collage.

yep oilers are at the limit again--hey need to shed some of the dead weight they have on the 3rd/4th lines and useless players on the farm who have NHL contracts

By my count, the Oilers are at 31 contracts for next season, with 15 RFAs, and 6 UFAs.
