You sure about that?

ESPN says it's a 6 game series with game 1 starting on Saturday.

It's what MLive reported, per CBJ trigger-happy release:

http://blog.mlive.com/snapshots/2009...mp_on_fir.html

George Malik said the 6 PM was supposed to be a 7 PM, so I edited, but I'll just put an asterisk by it for now... we can edit once it's all set.

Fox Sports Net Detroit announced it will televise the entire first round series between the Wings and Columbus, with the first two games also being available in HD (The availability of Games 3 through 7 in HD hasn't been determined yet). The games on Versus are subject to local blackout.

For those who live in Michigan, this is good news because we don't have to deal with the stupid Versus announcers.

That sucks. I'm only gonna get to see one game on Versus, and I am not happy about that.

No, but Game 2 is on Sunday. So I assume Game 1 is on Friday.

It will be released later tonight after the two game 7's.

Check: Friday is confirmed, 7:00 PM, Sunday at 2:00 PM on NBC

Good. I heard earlier that they were talking about a thursday night start and then waiting til Sunday because of some event at the Joe on Saturday. No reason for that bizarre two day break when the game can just be scheduled for Friday. Wonder when the Wings will fly out to Anaheim for game three.

Red Wings-Anaheim series to begin Friday

Quote:
The Red Wings just announced that Game 1 of their second-round playoff series against Anaheim will start at 7 p.m. Friday, as expected. Game 2 is 2 p.m. Sunday on NBC.

The rest of the schedule likely will be released by the NHL today. But it's expected that Games 3 and 4 in Anaheim will be Tuesday, May 5, and Thursday, May 7.
Need to figure out when to make the GDT's
