Predators Organization Ranks 3rd

In HF's Spring 09 Rankings, St Louis & Montreal were only two teams that were rated ahead of us

While I think we should be ahead of Montreal I dont see how they rank us ahead of LA, its good to know that HockeysFuture thinks we have some quality young players coming up.

"An organization that used to be stocked with defensive prospects, that department looks comparatively bare as of late. While there is great forward depth along the wings, the system is thin at center."

I have more confidence in our defensive prospects (Blum, Sulzer, Josi) than our forward propsects.

Wilson seems to be our only good-bet top 6 forward, IMO. Everyone else has a lot of maybes, and fringe-i-ness.

It really depends on the wings coming up. If the Santorelli's, O'Reilly, Jones, Hornqvist, and Pihlstrom pan out then they are right.

Wow, really? Third? I would have put us sixth or seventh.

Same here. I think the forwards are a little overrated and unless Josi and Foss pan out the defense needs help.

The reason our forward "potential" ranks higher than a lot of other teams is because if a forward or center has REAL potential, they get rushed up in a hurry, because offensive play is at a premium.

So we have the most "almost, but not quite" players.

I'd trade most of our prospects for one more true potential first or second liner. The ones we have, other than Wilson, seem to be rated as "may someday play a role on a third line". Woohoo! THAT will bring us to the cup finals...

Well, it could help. If we have a bunch of 3rd and 4th liners in the system now Nashville can put them in those places now instead of over paying for Nichol, Fiddler, ETC
