Just a thought, Hudler is a RFA this season and Detroit cannot sign him if they intend to resign Hossa, or it does not seem likely. They are also inconsistent with goaltending given the horrid season Osgood had, although he certainly has rebound in the playoffs.
For Montreal, they are in an extreme lacking of centermen, especially if Koivu does decide to leave and the goaltender battle in my opinion is slowing down the progress of both Price and Halak. Hudler would provide additional speed to a fast Montreal team and is only twenty six, certainly younger than if they opted to resign Robert Lang. The only concern is as a RFA, it is not a guarantee.
I would like to say Halak could be dangled for move however we all know what happened with Huet. The only other likely possibility is trading Halak to Philly. Anyhow worth a post as I am curious what people think.
Edit: If it would cost more in your opinion, suggestions always welcome.
