Bozak, Hanson, Gustavoon (SP)

Here is an intresteing idea. Where in the draft would these 3 players go? Pretend they were all in this years draft and 18.

Example.

Bozak, 1st round 22nd overall. (NOT REAL)

Bozak - 3rd round
Hanson - 5th round
Gustavsson - 2nd round

And hey, lets not make this leafs-centric.

Matt Gilroy - 3rd round

Tyler Bozak - 2nd Round, IMO.
Christian Hanson - 3rd Round.
Jonas Gustavsson - 1st Round or very early 2nd (With the numbers he's had in the SEL, thats insane)

Bozak was a Hobey Baker finalist this year, while Gilroy won the award himself. No reason to beleive either of these guys would go in the 3rd. Latest would be 2nd for either of them imo.

Hobey Baker winners (and CHL award winners for that matter) aren't necessarily the best NHL prospects. Look back at guys like Junior Lessard and I'd bet the rate of those guys who make it is probably smaller than you'd think.

If they were 18, but with the same ability they have now, they should all be late 1st rounders or 2nd rounders.

Gustavsson would easily be the #1 ranked goalie.

But they're not 18, and don't have the same room for improvement!

Heck, if Matt Stajan had his current ability, but let's say he was 17 or 18 years old, he'd probably be ranked higher than Matt Duchene lol.

This is a highly highly what if season. What if Crosby was turning 18 this year, would he have been accepted into the Draft as a 15 year old in '06?

Bozak - a low 2nd rounder/high 3rd round
Gilroy - high 2nd round
Hanson - 4th round
Gustavsson - Late first

Hard to say. I posted before the OP edited in to pretend that they were 18 (either that or I missed it). If you look at hobey baker nominees and winners over the years, there's a lot of players who are late round picks or never really had an NHL career.

If they had the talent they do now and they were really 18, Gilroy would be a definate top 10-15 pick, Gustavsson would be the same, Bozak would be a late first, and Hanson would probably be a 2nd or 3rd rounder.

But because they don't have that room to grow, I'd say Gustavsson would be a 2nd rounder, Gilroy and 2nd rounder, Bozak a 3rd rounder, and Hanson a 3rd or 4th rounder.

Bozak wasn't a finalist, he missed several weeks this year due to a knee injury. He definatley would have been one had he been healthy all season.

This is one of the funnier misspellings I've seen in a while.
