Why would the Kings trade their #1 LW?

Value of this is difficult to gauge as no one really knows the value of JJ due to all these rumours. If Everyone was to hit there potential then Pens would win this deal by a mile but if JJ doesn't reach his potential and Frolov bolts after a year then Pens would lose. With there lack of LW depth trading Frolov seems a no-no for LA fans and Goligoski is reasonably useless to them with Doughty,Quincey and there prospects.

I'd rather have Sneep or Grant than Goligoski but it still favors PIT.

Completely favors Pitt. As much as i like Staal, were NOT trading frolov, especially in a deal like this

Weird because Sneep and Grant are significantly worse prospects than Gogo.

You have gone and proven you have no idea what you're talking about. Goligoski is leaps and bounds better than both and it isn't even remotely close. But hey, if that's what you want, you can have it.

Pens would need to add to this deal.

I've seen Goligoski since he played here and I'm not real high on his game at the NHL level. I'd rather have Grant because LA is loaded with guys like Goligoski.

He came 2nd in scoring for Rookie(20 points) in 45 games and had a +/- of 5 and averaging a 18 mins a game, not really sure how you'd take Grant over him who hasn't played a single pro game.

He's bigger, more physical, and fits LA's needs more. We have plenty smaller, offensive minded defenseman.

One guaranteed year of Frolov and JJ who apparently has his panties twisted? no thanks. The Kings can hang onto Frolov, try lock him up long term and keep their top LW, the Pens can keep their 20 minute a night 20 year old center and everyone can be happy.

Good one. LA doesn't have a need for a smallish, PP specialist, thanks.

He isn't just a powerplay specialist. Shows the extent to which you have seen him play. He has the speed and skill to be a sound positional, top-4 defenseman. Very much comparative to a Brian Rafalski style of play.

But hey, you can take Sneep, Strait, or Grant who need 2-3 years of AHL time before they are even ready to sniff the NHL. Read some more HF Player Profiles to substitute actually watching a player play before passing judgement.
