Futurama (Not Renewed For An 8th Season)

http://io9.com/5282624/is-futurama-c...comedy-central

Quote:
We've been reporting the Futuama, "it ain't over till Dr. Zoidberg sings" rumors for months now. An update has finally leaked out, and it sounds like our prayers for original and funny television have been answered.

When we last interviewed co-creator David X. Cohen, he showed had high hopes thatFuturama would get picked back up, after it's long DVD movie hiatus. In fact, he believed this so much he even discussed what the writers had in mind for the Planet Express crew.

Collider is now reporting from their inside source that Futurama will be back on Comedy Central with 13 new episodes.

If true and I see no real reason why it wouldn't be, since the cast and crew have been hinting at this happening for months it's a good thing. We need smart new cartoons on TV, and Cohen and crew know how to do just that. All glory to the Hypno Toad.

That's wicked news, one of the better shows on TV in my opinion. Brilliant series.

Futurama is a great show and I enjoy pretty much every episode I've ever seen, but for some reason it's not a show I go out of my way to watch.

Glad to see it's coming back though.

I'm happy this show might be coming back but then again people have lied on blogs before. I hope we get more concrete evidence that this show is coming back instead of hearsay from anonymous sources.

It's too bad it was taken off TV to begin with.
Glad it's back though.

It's good news, but I hope the quality goes back to what it was in seasons 2-3. Season 4 got too melodramatic, and the movies were not as funny/good as the seasons.

Duckman is back?

And just to go ahead and make my list

1-Simpsons (Even though its average now)
2-Duckman
3-South Park
4-Life with Louie
5-The Critic
6-King of the Hill
7-Daria
8-Bobby's World
9-Futurama
10-Doug

All great shows but I prefered some from my childhood over more modern ones

yay, all glory to the hypnotoad.

Futurama is one of my favorite shows. As evident in my choice of off-season avatar (which I use every off-season)

By my own admission I haven't seen Futurama or their movies in years but from what I do remember the show wasn't that bad.

Zap was the best. Him and his sexual learning disorder

Him or Bender..."Bite my shiny metal butt"

It's such a great show... all of the characters are funny and the jokes are classic. Even if you strip all of that away you're still left with a pretty good sci-fi cartoon so even the unfunny episodes are pretty good!

Futurama, for whatever reason, also has some of the best tearjerker moments I've ever seen on TV (Leela's Parents Montage, Seven Leaf Clover, Fry's Dog).

"I suffer from a very sexy learning disability. Kif, what do I call it?"

"*sigh* Sexlexia....."

One thing that's also great about the show is the commentary tracks on the DVD sets. They're hilarious. There's one (I think it's the one where Leela becomes a pro ball player) that kills me every time.

Ha, great. Probably my favourite is the episode "roswell that ends well" when Fri finds out he's his own Grandpa.

"Fry's Dog!"
"When do we want it?"
"Fry's Dog!"

The episode where they go to war against the balls (War is the H Word, IIRC) is great. At least 20 great quotes that me and my friends still drop all the time.
