What will he do as a 21 year old is yet to be seen. Is Kessels 60 points as a 21 year old really that much better than Gagners 49 points as an 18 year old?
Yes.

The whole "Player A scored more than Player B at the same age" argument doesn't mean a whole lot. Phil Kessel was in college when he was 19, so of course Gagner scored more at that age. He scored more than Teemu Selanne at a younger age as well, but he's not going to be better than either Kessel nor Selanne so it's a moot point.

Just because you feel Gagner won't be better then Kessel doesn't make it so. The reason why Kessel was in College at 19 was because he wasn't good enough at that age. Gagner is a special player and will be a star in this league

Phil Kessel didn't play College when he was 19. He was in the NHL.

Sam Gagner also didn't have to recover from cancer at the age of 19.

There were faint rumors of Kessel going to the Hawks, but considering he and Skille have heat between them, dont believe that rumor.

The Canucks would probably do that,as Raymond would have to go back if we were trading for Kessel to make roster space. However, Edler being in the deal would be a tough sell with Ohlund departing this summer. You have to give talent to get it back though, so it would be a hesitant yes.

Do you think that Tambellini is an idiot? Now way we give up our first rounder without a star player coming back.

Counter:

To Boston: Hemsky, Gagner and a 2nd
To Edmonton: Marco Sturm, Michael Ryder and Boston's 1st

In both offers a team gives up their best offensive player, their best young offensive player and a lesser pick for 2 ok but overpaid vets and a higher pick.

If you wouldn't do my deal I hope you'll see why we would never do yours.

It was testicular cancer, not real cancer...

Besides athletes seem to get stronger when their balls get irradiated.

Lance Armstrong for example.

Edmonton will give you Staios for that crap in a bag.

Not Penner though, I think that he will have a good year.

This is a league where Paul Statsny gets 6.0 mil per year and Andy McDonald gets 4.7 per year...

And people in Bruinsland are shocked because Phil doesn't want to sign for 3.75 mil per.

Paul Stastny is a 24 year old point per game player. He is worth 6 mill for sure. Andy Mcdonald is also a point per game player when playing to his ability.

Kessel should definitely make more then Mcdonald but I take Stastny on my team way before Kessel.

I think if you're comparing Stastny's 6 mill to Kessel's value then Kessel would be worth somewhere beten 4.5 and 5.

Not real cancer? Obviously you are one who has never been affected or had a family member affected with cancer. All cancer is deadly, just because it was "testicular cancer" doesn't mean it was "not real"

You get a solid 2nd pairing puck moving defenseman (not out of the question for him to put up 40+ points next year) + a 2nd round draft pick + an all around defensive prospect (projected a 2-4 defenseman).
I like Grebeshkov. But I don't know anything about Chorney. Personally, I'd like to get a little more sizzle for Kessel than Grebs though. (And ideally, I'd like to keep him.)

You're right, my bad. He turned 19 at the beginning of his rookie season. I always think he was 20 as a rookie, because he accelerated his high school and went to Minnesota early with his friends Stoa and Frazee.
