Well I already seen a trade proposal for Heater but here goes
Pens trade
Marc-Andre Fleury cap hit of 5 mil through 2014-15
Jordan Staal cap hit of 4 mil through 2012-13
Brooks Orpik cap hit of 3.75 through 2013-14
Total cap hit of 12.75
Sens trade
Dany Heatley cap hit of 7.5 mil through 2013-14
Anton Volchenkov cap hit of 2.5 UFA at the end of next season
Pascal Leclaire cap hit of 3.8 through 2010-11
Total cap hit of 13.8
The reasoning this trade works for Pittsburgh, gives Crosby a winger he will have for a long time with be a match made from heaven. Crosby even stated his he could pick a winger he would choose Heater.
The reasoning this trade works for Ottawa, gives a good young center in Staal at a nice cap hit would be a 1 2 combo with Spezza. Fluery is a proven goalie only 24 still young and made it to the stanley cup finals, and Orpik is a good stay at home defensemen who is a good top defensemen.
Anyway I have different feelings on my own trade proposal but this is what I feel the value would be for Heatley. Thoughts try not to flame too hard.
Regardless of how fair or unfair this is in terms of value, you and I both know there is no chance whatsoever that anything remotely close to this trade ever happens.

No just no.. Heatley has asked to be traded BFD. Murray is gonna get something good for him. He is signed long term to a decent contract for a 1stline scoring winger. To get him you'll need a first rounder, a very good prospect and a front line player otherwise Ottawa lets him sit and rot.
My proposal: To Anaheim for Perry and Getzlaf

lolz well if this is your value on heatley its no wonder you thought this deal was unfair. if you honestly think that heatley has even a .01% chance of bringing back perry and getzlaf then I need some of whatever you're smoking because thats beyond ridiculous.
Ottawa would need to add more in order for them to get Getzlaf, and I still doubt Anaheim would do it. The Ducks would surely need to add something along with Perry in order to get Heatley though.

I rather keep Fleury over Leclaire, i'd like Volchenkov but not at the cost of Orpik, and Staal for Heatley is laughable. It would need to be atleast Fleury, Staal, our 1st, Letang, Orpik for Heatley, Volchenkov, Leclaire which is way too many players getting traded from the Pens, too much depth gone, and for what? a lesser Orpik although he's just as physical, a lesser goalie, and a 1 dimensional goal scorrer who is slow and wont fit into this teams style of play, and sucks balls on defense. For 7.5 i rather have Hossa 10 times out of 10 because he's better at everything but goal scoring.

Perry AND Getzlaf for heatley? I love Heatley and I'm a Leafs fan but let's be realistic. Getzlaf alone is better than Heatley, but you throw in Perry too? I hope the Malkin for Heatley and a 9th was a joke too, Malkin is the league's leading scorer and he's like 21, that would never happen. As for the main proposal, someone said that Pittsburgh upgrades defensively, and that is far from the truth, Orpik >> Volchenkov any day of the week.
