An underrated aspect of Futurama was always the little gags at the start of the title sequence. I always loved "Hey tivo! Suggest this!"

Morbo and Linda were always great too

Quote:
"Morbo can't read his teleprompter. He forgot how you say that letter that looks like a man with a hat."

"It's a "t", it goes "tuh""

"Hello little man, I WILL DESTROY YOU"
or

Quote:
"we're experiencing techincal difficulties. and crap like I've never seen"
or

Quote:
"I sure hope those windmills will help keep the turtles cool"

"WINDMILLS DO NOT WORK THAT WAY! GOODNIGHT!"

June 9, 2009 - You just can't stop Futurama. A day after news broke that the show looked to be coming back, Comedy Central has made it official, announcing they have picked up the series for an impressive 26 new episodes – thirteen more than originally expected.

As Comedy Central notes, this will mark the first true new episodes of the show in six years – though the four recent, straight-to-DVD Futurama movies were re-cut into 22 minute episodes.

Comedy Central will begin showing the new installments beginning mid-2010. An interesting note in the press release states, "Twentieth Century Fox Television retains the option to license the original runs of the new episodes to a broadcast network," seemingly implying there is a chance a network (though come on, it would be FOX, right?) could potentially air the new episodes first, before Comedy Central.

Says co-creator Matt Groening, "We're thrilled Futurama is coming back. We now have only 25,766 episodes to make before we catch up with Bender and Fry in the year 3000." Added his fellow Futurama creator, David X. Cohen, "We're excited and amazed that the show is coming back, perhaps due to some sort of mysterious time loop. We look forward to working with Comedy Central and 20th Television to make this the best iteration of the loop yet!"

Futurama mirrors another 20th Century Fox production, Family Guy, by its impressive resurrection, years after cancellation. Says 20th Century Fox TV Chairmen Gary Newman and Dana Walden, "When we brought back Family Guy several years ago, everyone said that it was a once-in-a-lifetime thing - that canceled series stay canceled and cannot be revived. But Futurama was another series that fans simply demanded we bring back, and we couldn't have been happier when Matt and David agreed that there were many more stories yet to tell."

I hope they use Zoidberg more in these 26 episodes. In the past, they've only used him as a complimentary player when he has primary player potential, like Fry, Bender, and Leela

Hallelujah.

Ever since I was 14 my dream was to write for that show...if the stars align correctly that may still happen...or not. Definitely not enough of a nerd/genius.

In celebration of Futurama's return I am rewatching "A Flight to Remember".

Hubert is hilarious. "I'm too young to die!"

Or his "Thank God there are plenty of escape pods! We won't have to dress up like women and children." and then he proceeds to remove his kid costume

I just saw that.

Bender: "If I don't come back, tell them I died robbing some old man."

Fry: "I'll say you went out prying the wedding ring off his cold, dead finger."

Bender: "*sob* I love you buddy...."

Good news to hear. I find Futurama > Simpsons > Family Guy in terms of quality these days. (Simpsons is still up there, but Futurama writing is what the Simpsons used to have.)

"Oh god, you're killing me..."

Fry: "Its just like the story of the grasshopper and the octopus. All year long the grasshopper kept burying acorns for winter while the octopus mooched off his girlfriend and watched TV. Then the winter came, and the grasshopper died, and the octopus ate all his acorns and also he got a racecar. Is any of this getting through to you?"

Or anything else that came out of Fry's mouth.

Fry: I just made out that radiator woman from the planet Radiator.

Leela: Fry, that's a radiator!

Fry: Oh. Is there a burn unit nearby?
