Oh well, I thought after they tied it up that they would manage the win to force a game 7. After the start to that series, nice to see how the later games played out. Interesting to read the comments about Seabrook in this series from fans, players, beat writers, etc. Joel Broda finished with 11g/13a/2pts and was a +18 with 8pims in 18 games for third in WHL playoff scoring link to WHL playoff scoring and link to Calgary Hitmen playoff scoring; Seabrook finished with 4g/11a/15pts/+8/26pims

should be asked in the Hershey thread since he played for them all season.
By all accounts he had a decent season although it seemed like the AHL grind caught up to him at some points of the season. He projects as a 2nd line winger.
from an article about end of season for the Hitmen:
"Seabrook, yet to be signed by the Washington Capitals, was easily the most improved member of the lineup and was probably their best player in the final series as he took just as much punishment as he dished out."
note: he was a 20yo overager this season so he cannot play in the CHL next season; as is noted in this and other threads, the Caps still hold his rights until June 1, 2010
"The future of 19-year-old forwards Joel Broda (Washington) and Bostjan Golicic (free agent) are cloudy."
note: I assume this refers to Broda's status as an overager (Nov 89 bday) next season and his status with the Capitals. He is eligible to play NA pro hockey next season if the Caps choose to sign him and have him turn pro. The Caps' rights to Broda expire June 1, 2010.
About Trevor Bruess: end of season awards for MSU: "Mr. Hustle Award (hardest worker): Trevor Bruess ... This is the third year in a row that Bruess got this one. Again, it's hard to argue with the choice. Although his aggressive play got him in trouble -- especially late in the season -- penalty-wise, the emotional and physical Bruess rarely took a shift off, one of the reasons why the Washington Capitals signed him in the offseason."
So Broda takes the honor three times over the course of the season: the second week of the season (first full week), the week of the new year and the final week of the WHL playoffs.
yeah, they tested a few combos out when he arrived, but it seemed he was playing wing; I think the best poster to respond would be BottleCaps since he has seen more recent games. FYI, there was also a lively conversation going on in the WHL thread during the Kelowna Calgary series.
Here is some more coverage of Broda - from his hometown paper:
a little more on Broda's next steps: "iffy are defenceman Alex Plante and sniper Joel Broda, who Kisio expects will be signed by NHL teams in the near future and turn pro." and Broda commenting on the Caps: ""We'll talk to them over the summer and if we can work something out, great,"he said. "If I could come back here, knowing we're going to have a good team again, I'd be excited to be a part of that, too, but everything is up in the air right now." link
no info. about the possibility of Broda joining Hershey if Game 7 ends with the Bears winning, but I assume it is a possibility (not definite) for Broda to join as a black ace
no surprise given he was on the team last year, but Della Rovere on the Canada WJCU20 summer development camp roster (the camp takes places in early August) - link to roster
Have yet to see him play as a Bear, but there is some serious buzzing going on within the Caps organization about this kid. I think everyone gets a little excited when people characterize him as having some "Hextal Quality"
I read about them, not sure if I ever posted the info. Regarding your Tavares comment, not really in the running for a season award like that given his late arrival to the team via trade, IMO.

Haha...I knew someone would say something about that. I don't disagree with you about Tavares so much, but its still got some volume to it...Kadri is not a slouch.
