I am pretty sure of the Sens are going to trade to a division rival like the Sabres they are going to want more than they would want from others.

If the Sabres want Heatley, Tyler Myers would have to be in the trade.

They would want Myers, Enroth and probably Roy or Pominville. Any trade with Heatley would have to start with Enroth IMO. Ottawa wouldnt touch either of those trades above.

Heatley is not staying in the division. Does that even need to be said?

any heatley trade within the division would be stupid unless we were 100% sure we were dismantling your team... so:

Roy, Stafford, MacArthur, 1st 09 would look nice to me.

Your scoring depth would be toast.

Heatley has a long contract, so you forgot to take away their future as well. Myers would have to be added.

For Buffalo to get Heatley, we would have to completely gut ourselves. With that said, I would not want to trade for Heatley as the price for us to get him would be very high.

Heatley? No thanks. Buffalo already has it's own one dimensional goal-scoring winger.

Heatley's developed his defensive game well and can make plays almost as well as he can score goals.

And he's quit on two teams when the going's gotten tough and is not the Sens go to guy in key situations. Add that he is not playing positions Buffalo is thin/weak at (center or defense), this deal makes no sense at all from Buffalo's POV.

This discussion is a waste of time. Heatley won't be traded within the division. This is all just a moo point.

Intentional, yes, and referencing that. I thought it was pretty funny, especially for Friends.

As others have stated, the sabres would really have to overpay to get him.

To Ott:
Roy (local boy)
Myers
Ennis
1st

To Buf:
Heater
2nd

Do we have a deal?

Nowhere near enough to put our 50 goal scorer in-division.

I would be against anything involving the Sabres giving up Myers. Enroth is tradeable if we're getting a good return.

The Sabres don't need another winger badly enough to give up our future number-one defenseman. We've already got Vanek, who fills the same role as Heatley would here and is younger.
