Well, some people were criticizing a Gaborik-Wellwood-Demitra line that I had proposed in another thread because it'd be too soft...wouldn't that same statement apply to this line?

From what I have read, Shirokov is a player that isn't afraid of corners and scores most of his goals 3-6 feet away from the net.
Although a good coach would utilize this line in the right situation which is what A.V. did with Wellwood so his weaknesses weren't overly exposed against the opposition.

Sedins aren't soft the way those others are.
I really wish that just once the sedins could go into a season with a linemate who has the skill to score 30 goals and the gamble is to see if he nets 40 with the sedins.
Enough of this old guy/unproved young guy/rookie/3rd liner garbage (all due respect to burrows, he worked out well. He's still not nearly proven enough to get the spot next season)

They will when theyre playing with Jason Blake next year in Toronto!
Carlo B is the aforementioned "any guy that can post an article on Bleacher's Report".
Here is his posting history on Bleacher's Report -- of note is his early report of Emery's signing with the Flyers (is it even official?): Carlo B Article Archive
If we consider our own source here in HF (forgot his username), and read between the lines of Gillis' interview on The Pipeline show, we can assume this has happened and will be announced soon enough.

yes the emery signing is official today and he posted the krejci signing before TSN did. take it for what its worth.
I like the sounds of that Salo and Hansen for Johnson rumour in his article.
Quite an outdated rumor at the moment.
Considering Salo's somewhat candid comments about how much this recent playoff run meant to him and the legacy of his father, I think it'd be hard for Gillis to ask him to waive his NTC. Notwithstanding the fact that the latter is against the notion of demanding a player to waive their NTC.

Gabby/Welly/Demo: the league's softest, most easily injured line, ever.
Would that fit under the cap? Assume Gabs 6.5 and Nieds 5.5-6
Kesler as the 1st Line C? I love Kes too man, but there's no way in hell he's going to carry a line by himself. It took Sundin AND Demitra, two playmakers, for Kesler to start putting up points. He's a finisher, not a set-up man.

Never, heh. You're roughly 4m - 8m above the cap. Way too many UFAs in there... so for one, we're overpaying, for two, we're never going to sign that many UFAs —*there's other teams trying to sign them too.
Besides, where the hell did Salo with his NTC go? Where did Burrows with his new 2m contract go?
Not to mention that despite all that money, the line-up is extremely weak down the middle. It's not even funny. Kesler is better on the wing, Wellwood is at best 3rd liner and Hodgson is making a jump from OHL to NHL and will likely be just about right on the 3rd line.
