Jillson to AMERKS??

Hear rumors Jilson is looking to play with Rochester during the lockout....obviously would be good for the kid to play in a "real league" and good the brass to have him under such a watchful eye......

Where have you heard this? I doubt it's true, but it would be a nice addition, especially since he wouldnt be counted as a veteran.

It would be really encouraging to know that he wanted to improve that much that he would come down to Rochester until things got sorted out.

I wouldn't mind seeing Pyatt play for the Amerks too. As far as I know all they have to do is sign an AHL contract and the team has to comply with the AHL veterans rule. It appears that Hasek will be suiting up for the Binghamton Sens.

He'd be booed out of Rochester. In the last 10 or so years, he's one of the most hated, if not the most hated player here.

I'd love to see Jillson here. Amerks defense is good enough as it is.

"real league" I hope you are not comparing the AHL to Europe, because the European leagues are way more competitive. Certainly the AHL will be better than the OSHL(which is a joke)

Looks like this may be true. Darcy said on the Simoncast he's had contact with the Amerks and it very possible he could end up there.

Perhaps you're not aware of it, but the Rochester Americans played in the 1996-97 Spengler Cup and finished 3rd in the tournament, including a win over highly regarded Jokerit. The AHL is most certainly competitive with the top European leagues.

That Amerk team wasnt even the best team in the AHL. Many players from the 95-96 team that won the Cup were no longer with the team.

I'm guessing Jillson will be Ruff's special project.
