But I would take Stamkos over Filatov.

Filatov, just because my team needs wingers more than it needs centers.

I like both players equally though, and would kill to have either of them on my team.

It's not even a contest at this point.

At this point, Stamkos appears to be the superior player, so him.

Filatov hasn't proven to be better yet, so Stamkos until that time.

I think that was his point.

I've always seen Filatov as nothing but a huge project. Extremely fleet skating so to speak but really not much more.

But I remember seeing a 17 y/o Pavel Bure, and he actually looked allot like Fila does now back then. But for every player like Bure who takes that steps goes like 50 Filatov's.

Anyway, that was a bit OT, Filatov really needs to pin down allot of things before he can start contributing in the NHL.

I think comparisons between Bure and Filatov are a bit much. Bure was always the best player on the ice before entering the NHL, even at age 17.

If Filatov gonna stay longer in Columbus he probably will be worse young player in NHL. Thats for sure.

I don't know if I had too many sodas last night, but I don't understand either of these sentences.

Edit: Sorry, I realize English isn't everyone's first language, so that wasn't supposed to be a jab at anyone -- was just scratching my head a little.

Stamkos was rated higher last year at this time. What has happened in the past year that would make someone think Filatov is now better than Stamkos?

He's saying there's a 50 times bigger chance Filatov goes busto rather than goes Bure...he's saying that for every Bure there's 50 Chistov's .. basically.

The 2nd guy is saying that if Filatov stays in the Columbus organization he's ...as Bender would say....DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMED..you know, cause every young player that goes through Columbus is absolutely terrible. Just look at Steve Mason!

i believe ola means that for every player with talent like filatov and bure had at very young ages not everyone takes the next step and becomes a star like bure did. many players with a lot of raw skill never put it together and become great players.

..and Derick Brassard.
..and Kris Russell.
..and Jakub Voracek.
..and Jared Boll.
..and Derek Dorsett.

..and I have no doubt that Nikita Filatov will be just fine as a Jacket. He'll have to learn to play the right way which if Brass and Voracek could, then no doubt Filatov can as well. The kid certainly has the skill, mindset and motivation to do it.

Maybe one day folks will actually realize that Doug MacLean is no longer with this organization and the days of rushing prospects are over.

Until then they'll just continue to live in the past and make themselves look foolish I guess.

FTR - I think Stamkos will be the better more complete player but the gap will not be a wide one.

Filatov hasn't proven anything yet, so I'm going with Stamkos. Although I think Filatov has the potential to be a good NHLer, I don't think he will ever be on the same level as Stamkos. Stamkos has a much more complete game at this point too.

I'll take Stamkos, but Filatov is going to be a great player, I think. He might even have higher offensive potential.

Stamkos for sure.

I see KHL in Filatov's future.
