That doesn't say anything to me because they couldn't see a good goalie if one fell into their lap. I think they just distrust an unproven guy and would rather go with the proven guy even if he's painfully average. Personally I'd rather go with an unproven guy with a ton of potential over an inconsistent headcase and guy who isn't even NHL caliber. We need to start thinking long term and roll the dice on someone like Schneider. Not these retreads who were exiled to Russia.

And I can't believe people want Esche back. People can't wait to toss Biron under the bus but want rebound Rob? Biron >>>> Esche. And don't give me the money crap, only an a hopelessly clueless organization pinches pennies at the most important position on the ice.

It's the name of the game.

It's not like the Flyers haven't had more chances than the Penguins.

One is a backup. One is not.

Why is everyone making a big deal about the back up goalie? Who cares if it's Esche,Monroe, or some other backup as long as they are not making more than 1 or 1.5 mill. As for Emery, I think he's as good or even better than Marty and he costs a lot less. Now lets see if we can get Upshall back, move Briere and sign a stud defenceman

because our back-up goalie may need to be able to take over the #1 job if Emery blows it

Back up goalie is a big deal if you have an inconsistent starter.

I'd rather try and sign Yann Danis if the Islanders let him walk.

I'd love to sign Danis. However, it's slim the Isles let him walk.

yeah, danis is probably still an islander next year. with dipietro having a tough time staying healthy, danis is probably going to be depended on to play a decent amount of games.

I am pretty sure I read on the Isles board that they are letting him walk.

What..........he was the stellar in the world championships, he did everything but stand on his head. I know you didn't see them because you wouldn't be talking **** like this if you did. Just go read the quotes from the Head coach Ron Wilson but I'm sure you know much more than him....

Danny Briere's thoughts on Robert Esche are audible at 0:14.

Makes sense to me, they have DP signed till 3010, Joey Mac performed just as well if not better than Danis in more starts last season. It seems like they'll try to get Dubie back again, they tried too during the season but Columbus claimed him off waivers. So yea, Danis could likely be available although I'm not sure I care.

How is Esche of the 04 season any different from Biron of last year. Both got us to the ECF and then didn't do so well next season, yet people are *****ing about letting Biron walk and are talking a bunch of **** on Esche. Doesn't make much sense
