Saputo is NOT with Bronfman

In La Presse this morning. Jean-Francois Begin writes Saputo was interested, but he finally didn't bid with Bronfman.

Who's this Bronfman guy anyway? Would he be a good owner?

Hence why it'd be the perfect match for the Habs.

No, only the Habs. It's all Gainey's fault, too.

''The family is of Russian Jewish heritage.''

''Jewish'' = Rich
''Russian'' = Kovalev, Kovalchuk, Ovechkin,...

Also, president of World Jewish Congress.

The Bronfmans made their fortune out of the prohibition era.

The old trick of controlling supply to hike up the prices.

Funny how all the big elite families have made the first part of their fortunes with illegal products. Same with the Rockefellers and the opium trade. Then trying to get monopoly in the oil industry by all sorts of dishonest means to destroy their competition.

So do you think that a Bronfman team would be re-signing Schneider?

If Gillett does sell, I'd love to see Bronfman get it, if only so that he might think "gee, owning a sports team in this city is kind of fun, maybe I should bring the Expos back."

...won't happen.

Isn't that up to gainey? We're trying to avoid having owners who will dictate who to get and for how much. Unless you were implying that he would be that kind of owner?

I think he meant that Bronfman is jewish and Schneider is a name that originates from german (no???)?

Good to hear that. Joey Saputo should get an MLS franchise first.

Charles Bronfman possess an estimated fortune of 2,2 billion dollars of net worth and he is one of the member of the family so they does not need anybody to buy the Canadiens also the Saputo family is estimated at an $2.78 billion of net worth.

its not because your net worth is in billions that youre ready to lay out 0,5 billion alone.
