is this something that requires one to be fluent in Swedish?
Good question. I think you could be okay with the right 'guidence'
Some basic rules if you are interested
Cost: 40 kr (about $5)
You get two teams (5 players on each team) that you will dress with players. The team can't cost more than 6,000,000 or points will be drawn from your point totals each round.
Newspaper "Sporbladet" gives out stars to the best players in each game and those are counted in the point totals. If the magazine gives a player 5 stars he will get 5 points, 4 stars - 4 points, 3 stars - 3 points, 2 stars - 2 points, 1 star - 1 point.
And then there are also regular game/stats related points...
for example a player gets 2 points for a 2 min penalty, -1 one point for a 5min and game misconduct, 1 point for a 10 min penalty, -2 points for a game misconduct/match penalty, -1 if he is -1 in the game, +1 if he is +1 in the game etc, 1point if the team wins the game, -1 point if the team loses.
A defenseman that scores a goal gets 16 points, a forward gets 8 points, a defenseman gets 8 points for an assist a forward gets 4 points. Then there are also points for goals in power play etc and goalies obviously get points depending on how many goals they allow.
hmmm... i like the looks of your 'Toughguys', Pred. i was going to try my hand at whooping you guys in this league, too ( ), but i had some trouble with the registration. doesn't seem to like non-swedish addresses . oh well. by the way... why does it seem like everyone has Holmqvist as their goalie? was he cheap or something?
hehe, yup although they are not really tough. Originally my team included only tough/dirty players like Thomas Berglund, Johnny Oduya etc as I was going for the win in the PIM league (there is such a contest also I believe), but later changed my mind and created a 'competitive' team point wise... but I was stuck with the same team name
