CSNPHILLY.COM: Tim Panaccio reports Daniel Briere may have a no-movement clause and an expensive salary ($6.5 million per season) but the Philadelphia Flyers were reportedly shopping him without interest. "Phoenix, Los Angeles and Montreal, to be specific". Other salaries that might be of interest in the trade market include Simon Gagne (no trade/$5.25 million per) and either Joffrey Lupul ($4.25 million) or Scott Hartnell (no trade/$4.2 million).
SPECTOR'S NOTE:Forget about moving Briere, as his salary and recent injury history isn't likely to generate much interest. Gagne also might be touger to move. They'd have better luck moving either Lupul or Hartnell. Source...
No interest from Montreal... thank God for that! But if Scott Hartnell was to be made available, we better be right in there!
If philly makes changes do we want sister danielle for eg pleks?
NO!!!! NEVER NEVER NEVER!!!!
I don't want the Habs to even consider Briere as a possible #1 centerman....he's too small and he's not that good...plus he suffered from injuries last year and he might suffer from them for the remander of his career....who knows.
But the bottom line is to pretend Daniel Briere doesn't even exist.
We would be helping Philly out WAY too much by taking Briere off their hands. We would need to be heavily compensated if we took Briere off their hands....draft picks, top prospects and current roster players would have to come back our way to even consider it.
