Teoretical situation. Rick would not sign with us (I hope this scenario will not happen ). What will you offer us?

Doug Mclean says he expects Nash to get the biggest free agent contract of all time since he'll be the first superstar to reach UFA status under the new system....something like 100 million

Kaberle, Tlusty, Kulemin, and our 2011 second round pick if he signs an extension (can't be 2010 because of the timing involved in that kind of condition).

I love Nash. Guy is a stud. I'd offer probably as much for him as anybody. There are few players I'd trade Grachev for. He is one of the few.

Girardi, Grachev, Stepan and a 1st. I think he's that good.

Hamil stunk last year and there is no way they will give up Nash and Filatov. That's just insane to think about.

Of that package, you decided to look at the least valuable (and still a good prospect) asset, instead of the 2 good NHL player... Solid.... All while you're offering 2 prospects and a 2nd pairing D-man.

What I looked at was that Nash is the best player in the deal. Savard is older and he's already high priced. Kessel is soon to be very high priced. So what Columbus gives up is the best player in the deal and one of the best prospects outside hockey. In other words, they get ripped off.

Well, I certainly disagree. At the risk of sounding like a homer, I'd say Savard is the best player in the deal at this point.

Kessel and Filatov are what? 2 years apart? I consider them to have similar up side.... But at this point, Kessel's value is much higher.

Hamil is the toss in to counter-act the age difference from Savard to Nash.

Columbus may not jump on it, but I think it's a very decent offer.

If I'm Mtl, I give this year entire Draft+ d'Aggo, Plekanec, Weber and next year 1st round pick
Anyhow, a team trade a Nash only if he request a trade.

If Edmonton can resign him....

Nash + Filitov
for
Hemsky + Cogliano + Grebeshkov + 2010 1st round pick

*I am a fan of both the Oilers and the Blue Jackets. Flame away

what if Cogliano was changed to Gagner and you have a option of changing Grebeshkov to Gilbert? Imo, I don't think the Oilers would want to give up both Hemsky and Gagner and imo, Grebeshkov is better then Gilbert.

or

Cogliano stays the same but change Grebeshkov into Vishnovsky and change the 1st into Eberle.

Change Filitov to something else
so..

Nash/Filtov
for
Hemsky,Gagner,Grebs or Gilbert and a 2010 first.

or

Nash/?
for
Hemsky,Cogs, Vishnovsky, and Eberle

It's obvious you know nothing about the prospects I proposed. Grachev was one of the most explosive scorers in the minors last year as a rookie. He's also 6'3, 215. Stepan is widely considered a very talented center who a ton of scouts around the league are very high on. Girardi is already a top 4 defenseman and he's 24.

Actually, my offer was probably by far the best in the thread. If you knew anything about Grachev and Stepan, you wouldn't have just made that absurd post. I actually don't thik Grachev will struggle that hard to become a 35-45 goal player in the NHL. Nash is a sure thing. However, I have no problems with the Rangers keeping Grachev because he projects to be a dominant power forward in the NHL.

I suppose the value is okay but it's just too many superstars moving at once to make is feasible.

I think most will agree that your proposal was, by far, the worst.

too much going each way. I would go more with a kessel+colbourne+pick type deal for Nash. Bruins have the depth at center with hamill, krejci, bergeron, savard, etc. to lose a prospect like colbourne, who at the moment has higher value that hamill does.

Nash is going to resign... this is not going to happen.... Doug Maclean talks a lot of blah blah blahsss and nothingness. I guess he needs to fill his radio show with something.
