Holmgrem has stated he wants a centerman who is a face off specialist and a solid PKer. Personally, I like Madden and I think he'd be a good fit but I don't know how much he'll demand if he hits the open market.

You think this is a possible destination for Madden?

Thoughts.

I also like Pahlsson as an option.

John Madden will be looking for something around 2.5M$ or 3M$ IMO... He's defenatly gonna get the same contract or more then his "buddy" Pandolfo who makes 2.5M$ per. I'd love for Philly to sign Madden at 3M$ per cause they would be in serious cap crap !!!

Isn't Philly stacked at center currently??
Carter Richards Briere Giroux Jvr...

They have more pressing needs..like a legit goalie...and a top 4 Dman

I am hoping that Lupul and Jones are gone in two weeks. Lupul for a young goalie, and Jones for anything/nothing (cap space). We could then re-sign Knuble and sign a top-4 defenseman and possibly a very good 3rd line center.

No Philly isn't really stacked at center. We have some wings who can play both positions but really Richards, Carter and Briere are the only three who are natural centers. And beyond that, our farm is quite weak at center.

I heard a rumor the Flyers are trying to move one of their "big salary players" (I assume Briere) and JVR so they can sign JBo and still have money to play around.

If the upcoming cap is 57mil the Flyers are 5 mil under CURRENTLY. By moving Lupul, Briere and waiving Jones (that would shed close to 14mil in cap hit), the Flyers can resign Knuble for another season, get a 3.5mil FO specialist/PKer and sign a top 4 dman.

I think that goes beyond the definition of "stacked at center"
