Someone said Matthias Ohlund earlier and I agree. If the Kings want someone to groom Jack Johnson then sign Ohlund to a free-agent contract this summer.

JJ doesn't really need anyone to groom him anymore.

He just needs to be allowed to spread his wings a bit, lose the leash, take some heads off. All that good stuff.

don get the point..........

O Donnel is a very good mentor and signed for that job.
Doughty is fine with Greene.
And Quincey and Dreswiske was looking good.........I think for now the defense is settled and the Goalieposition is promising.......

Lombardi will keep the fokus on offense.
If he finde anyone else beside the draft pick we are fine for a playoff run and grow as a team...

There is noe need to trade for a defender

I think JBo would be a good mentor for both.

Doughty Quincey
Bouwmeester Johnson
Greene O'Donnell/Drewskie/Hickey

I'd prefer we try and sign Komi, or go after Boynton if FLA lets him go.

The Kings do need to raise their ceiling as far as defensive talent goes, that's for sure.

IMO, Johnson doesn't need a big brother. He needs to be allowed to play *his* game. Ron Wilson did that at the World Championships this year, and in Pierre McGuire parlance, Johnson was a monster at both ends of the ice.

I'd rather have Komisarek than Bouwmeester in the Kings' case anyways. We have enough puck moving dman and Komisarek would help Jack become a much tougher defenseman..

Aren't they good friends anyways?

Moving up one spot in the draft doesn't make sense.

Aaron Ward. He's a a gritty vet, American like JJ and can be had. Ward for a 4th rounder this year or 3rd next year.

You see this alot with fans of teams...when is having too many good dmen such taboo? It is like Staal in Pittsburgh. Just because you have Crosby and Malkin doesn't mean you have to trade him. It is OK to have 3 good centers.

5M cap hit for next 3 years.

13M remaining real money. 20+ minute a night d-men, under 30, not overly physical, but certainly not someone who gets pushed around.

Can be had for a pick, or prospect.

The Sens are going to throw in Jason Smith with Heatley. The perfect guy to groom JJ. Also, Smith will provide the leadership the Kings will miss when they send Brown to Ottawa.

Sure. The Kings will give up their captain and his brutal salary

I am on the Ohlund bandwagon. As long as his demands are not outrageous. I would rather work on the offence. As for the Jovo ting, he would be coming ofthebooks at the right time and him and Doughty would be scay together with Doghty setting up that rocket
