do ya think that he will get a spot at the aeros team? or better, in which line will he play ?
I can't imagine that Brandner would not get a spot on the roster considering his hockey skills, and physical size. Also consider that if you could point to a weakness the Aeros have in shear numbers of bodies at the forward position, it would be at LW. Fortunately the Aeros are very deep at left shooting centermen that can move easily to the wing.
Regarding who he might play with, he played well with Wallin last year and I can see him teamed up with Wanvig for a very effective second, or third line. If the lockout extends into the season, the Aeros could roll four very solid lines.
This is why I can't see Boogaard in the picture getting significant minutes despite how some want it to happen so badly.
The more I look at this team on paper, the better I like their chances. I realize that all the other teams have beefed up with locked out would be NHL'ers. But it could come down to team chemistry and balance. If the Aeros had a sure-fire proven AHL goalie, I would really be excited about their chances. Considering their potential both on the offensive end and their solid defense corps, I see the only large question mark to be Harding. He should have a good amount of support in front of him. But is he ready for a fortified AHL? That's the big question. Smith apparently is going to be pushing him hard. Which usually works to the benefit of both goalies.
