Edm - Pho

To Edmonton:
Ed Jovanovski
Al Montoya
8th Over-All

To Phoenix:
Sheldon Souray
Ales Hemsky
2nd

This is more for a value based trade, granted this will never happen, nor did I research contracts, which I believe Souray is a UFA, no?

Thoughts?

No, not even close.

And no Souray is not a UFA.. he has like 4 years left and Hemsky is on one of the best contracts in the league.

Souray's not a UFA. Disregarding contracts, Hemsky alone has more value than the Phoenix assets.

God no from Edmonton's POV. Wouldn't do it for Hemsky alone.

Sheesh, sorry guys, I guess I was way off on this one. Sounds like Hemsky is highly taughted as an Oiler.

As an outsider of either team, what would it take from Phoenix to aquire Souray and Hemsky?

dude, this isnt even close. Hemsky isnt worth what many people thin, but hes still a great player and would get a much better return than this.

Not even Mueller, Turris, or Doan would be enough to convince Edmonton to trade Hemsky.

You would have a hard time getting hemsky but I would do Souray for 6th overall.

Edmonton would want a package with something like:

Peter Mueller, Shane Doan and Keith Yandle for Ales Hemsky, Sheldon Souray and a top teir prospect. It would take some kind of overpayment to pry two fan favorites away.

No, that would probably be enough. Or are you saying each of those would be a 1 for 1 trade. If you are than yeah thats true.

Unless it was a combination, no. It would have to be Doan + for Hemsky.

Seeming how Hemsky is untouchable, then I will have to throw in a counter offer, if you will.

My apologies on the Souray UFA comment, I think it may have come from him wanting out of Edmonton.

What about something like this:

Ed Jovanovski
Chad Kolarik
6th over all

In Exchange for:

Sheldon Souray
Andrew Cogliano
Edmontons 2nd

Better but Edmonton still doesn't touch it. We don't want Jovo.

Al Montoya alone could get that deal done. Are you sure you'd let go of such a blue-chip prospect though?

Alot of people had that problem, I think you just have to wait for a bit until your more "expierienced". There were a bunch of terrible proposals in threads and what not by rookie users I think that's the reason.

all newbies have to wait 30 days before they start threads--this was put into place after too many trolls invaded the board

to get around it become a sponser

What do Oilers fans think of Doan for Hemsky straight up?

(Assuming Doan waives NTC)

Both are on good contracts - Doan may bring a little more of what the Oilers need right now. Hemsky may be a nice fit with the yotes younger players (scorers).

I wouldn't do it straight up. Hemsky is on the upswing, Doan is not.
