Sens take this in a heartbeat, even though I don'tr really think they need Raymond unless they dump some players.

zero reason for Vancouver to make this trade. Auld is useless for Vancouver - a $1mill backup to Luongo has ZERO value. They're better off just re-signing Labarbera.

And Bell isn't needed... Raymond is a much more important asset for Vancouver, and there's no need to trade him unless you're upgrading the roster.

Jesus I don't even know if Ottawa does this, I would rather give Ilya Zubov or Peter regin our 3rd line left wing spot than to "captain powerplay"

Auld gets traded for a 5th/6th/7th at the draft, Bell walks. That's what will happen

Vancouver doesn't do the OP's proposal and neither does Ottawa

depth is never a problem. If clouston doesnt like raymond, he wont play him.

IMO, getting raymond is better than getting a pick for auld (and i think auld can get a 3rd on June 27th) and losing bell for nothing (if we qualify bell (RFA), he will still have to clear waivers to be assigned to binghamton. We either keep him on the roster as the 8th dman or lose him on waivers.)

This is definitely a good deal for Ottawa. Brendan Bell and Alex Auld are the ultimate example of what I like to call "good bad team players". Mason Raymond has some legitimate potential as a second line forward if he beefs up a bit.

Waste everybodies time? I think you waste your own time. If you don't like the station change the channel.

As a Canuck fan I'd do this trade. As long as Nick Foligno is heading Vancouver's way as well.

No what you seem to miss is that he makes garbage proposals involving every team but the Hawks. Their never close. Rarely do they deal with one teams needs nevermind him taking the time to concern himself with both teams needs.

You don't get under my skin. It's just annoying seeing a guy named Hawksfan make nothing but proposals involving any team but the Hawks. Why not make proposals involving your own team and let the fans of other teams take care of making their own.

We have a log-jam at forward and defense as it is, why add another forward who will just take away a spot from Zubov or Regin when they have been working their butts off to get that spot? The way I see it if Raymond is brought in to play that 3rd line spot, neither Regin or Zubov get to play, then what happens? They either flee overseas or ask for a trade, greatly decreasing their value.

Both of them have potential to put up 25+ points on the 3rd line as rookies, pretty much Raymond without the insane PP time. I don't really see why we jump on this deal.

Seems like a weird proposal, considering that it's totally unnecessary on the part of the Canucks and Ottawa would jump all over it.

You're fired.

Or more embarrassing, Murray acquires Raymond and Regin takes his spot on the 3rd line anyways.

Mason Raymond is certainly not the missing piece we are looking for. We got our steal from Vancouver last year, and it was Shannon. We have to many 3rd liners who have "potential" for the 2nd line.

For what its worth, Auld is going to Columbus for Russell (Hockeybuzz rumor). And if this is true, then the Sens are getting another small Dman with some puck moving upside. Sounds like any or all of Bell, Picard, Smith are on their way out.

would you deal Picard for a backup goalie to Leclaire?

why would Columbus deal their best young dman, and someone who showed signs of taking big steps in his game last year, for a backup goalie to Mason, who's overpaid to fill the backup position as it is, and is a season from UFA?

Auld's worth a mid-round draft pick right now... and with over a dozen backups available in FA (Garon, Niittymaki, Gerber, Conklin, Labarbera, Johnson, Sanford, Raycroft, Boucher, Clemmensen, Weekes, Denis, Danis, etc), I doubt any team even gives up a mid round pick for a $1mill backup right now.

Russel is a 22 YO dman, still signed on his ELC, showing solid development and already playing fairly well at the NHL level... he's worth *significantly* more than Auld is.
