There is no such thing as a 4th line scoring center.
I take it you've never watched a team that can comprehend breaking the "top 6" and "bottom 6" archetype and still field a competitive team. There is such a thing.
I would also submit that in the real world injuries happen. Having a utility player that can be relied on in a "bottom 6" role and also be trusted to step up into a "top 6" role is a valuable player. Smart teams and people know this.
