Kenny Jönsson Retires
Thought I'd post it here too. Former NHL defenseman Kenny Jönsson calls it quits after five seasons for his hometown team of Rögle.
He says that he doesn't have the drive and motivation to continue playing.

I'm guessing since its a 'drive and motivation' thing he likely isn't planning on trying to play for Sweden in the Olympics next year? Best defenseman in the tournament honors at the last Olympics, played pretty beastly gunning for that gold last time.

That is a huge blow to the swedish olympic team... I'd love to see him play for a few more seasons.. too bad.

I thought the same thing.
Always liked Kenny and thought he was often under-appreciated on the Island. Guy did what was best for he and his family... gotta respect that.

Kenny was great defenseman, definitely nhl-caliber player last season even he played in the swedish league for few years.

He was a great in the NHL he did a great job and was underappreciated. I thought he would come back and play a few more seasons.
