These trade proposals definately look close.

Personally Id like Steckel and Fleishmann but Flash, Lepisto, and the 2nd is definately something I would be happy to do and it would help both teams.

The Caps would have to move salary to take on Hamhuis

Hamhuis and Pothier both are making 2.5M next season, both are unsigned for the following season
I think these two would have to be part of the package

Fleischmann, Pothier,
throw in another player Schultz Finley Seabrook and or a pick

I wouldn't want to see Steckel or Gordon moved as they are both very good face-off men.

Taxpd
I think it is unlikely a team is going to trade a top line D-man with playoff experience why would they?
I would say that Hamhuis would be better then any of the D-man the Caps had on the ice last season except for Poti (maybe)

The Caps will have to dip in the UFA pool to get a top line D-man I would be thrilled if they landed Ohlund

Ohlund- Poti
Hamhuis -Green

Let just hope GMGM makes the right moves this summer

Ohlund isn't a top pairing Dman anymore, and regardless I wouldn't expect two additions to the D from outside the organization (but that's just my hunch).

And at lest one top-pairing Dman will likely be on the move this summer, and that's Kubina. Price may be too high of course, but it's something to think about.

Why on earth would the Predators do this? Just to make a trade?

The only realistic players I could see the Predators being interested in are Fleishmann, Laich, and maybe Steckel
