Seriously. Didnt Calgary have similar problems with the way Backlund was being utilized/developed last year in Sweden? I know that after the WJC, they made sure he came over ASAP.

That would probably be the best thing for him. Him coming back here after the Caps' training camp and trying to force himself into the lineup with the SEL regular season already underway, I don't know what he's expecting. I've heard some rumors that's he's a pretty cocky guy, that he dropped out of school and thinks he's some kind of superstar.

Kind of disappointing news/rumors/prognostication or whatever your choice description. I would hate for him to have two "wasted" years in Sweden if that's the case. But I find it odd since I thought he moved up for the playoffs this year. Seems odd that he'd go from playoff contributor to #6.

If the case kind of shows how special Backstrom with his accomplishments so young in the SEL
