When I look at it, we are agreeing to disagree on little, and we agree to agree on much.
You may be right about us agreeing more than we disagree. Can we now hold hands and sing Kumbaya?

I just looked at the NHLPA site to see what kinds of salaries Anderson, Clemmensen and Boucher made last year and none made more than $650,000. Given they all had good seasons, even if they doubled their salaries they would still make under $1.3 million (less than Emery's reported salary). The question is do the Flyers have enough cap room to sign J-Bow and pay around $1 million for a backup goalie or are they so tight against the cap that they have no choice but to sign whatever goalie they can for the league minimum (I believe is $575,000)?

As an aside, I miss Soderstrom.
What? Not Robbie Moore nor Rick St. Croix?

D'Amour -- I was in attendance for his one period as a Flyer.

Depending on how "acquisition" is defined, Bob Froese could be part of the discussion, too.

I'll get the pitch pipe... You can start the Camp Fire.

... But can we skip the hand holding, Dude.

I'd guess that those goalies would definitely get raises as some other teams are also on the same page as the Flyers, and the bidding raises their contracts... I hope that the Flyers are not so bad that they have to only sign bargain basement backups. But I concede that they are in dire straights, and the next couple years will only get worse... unless Homer can find a way out of this Cap Hell.

My guess is that they sign one not too far below Ray's cut-rate deal. I still think Nitty's in the mix; I got a strong gut feeling/hunch.

When did Danis become more than an AHL goalie? Nathan Lawson had better numbers than him at Bridgeport and they used Joey MacDonald almost as much as Danis after the injury to DiPietro.

It would seem that USA Hockey has Esche fairly highly ranked and with the Flyers having some connection with the national team program it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility to see him brought back.

Whether that is what he wants is another issue.

Do you remember Bruce Gamble getting a heart attack and finishing out the game? A win... and I think it may have been his only one to boot.

Frosty is sorta there... at a lower level... But I don't recall how he was obtained; I though he was a homegrown product.

I'd guess that he'd jump at the chance to return to the NHL, and the Flyers... But his Russian team wants a goalie to release him, and the NHL is cool on going after these players due to the compensation can of worms.

He has been talking with Homer, according to Homer, BTW.

Is Holmgren back on the booze? An Esche/Emery tandem? Pay Biron and grab a bakup for the near minimum and forget about it. Shave salary elsewhere but do not go cheap on goalies as risky as this pair.

Sure do. It was in Vancouver. When he suffered it, he thought a player hit him to the ice. He asked someone (Van Impe?) who hit him and the response was that no one was near him. Team flew to Oakland for the next game and that is where it was diagnosed. That week, the Flyers called up Smokey McLeod and that is how he joined the team.

I loved the dedication to the game... Word has it that Bruce died on the ice in a pickup or some other kind of game later in life. He died with his pads on... a true Flyer/a true goalie (read, 'insane' )

Scratch Esche off the list.

Having to choose between a return to the National Hockey League and a return to the Kontinental Hockey League in Russia, goalie and Whitesboro native Rob Esche has chosen the latter, telling WKTV he will honor the final year of his contract with SKA St. Petersburg.

Give them Dan Cloutier's phone number. He's not doing much these days.

Well it looks like we may be stuck with Nitty and his"groin" issues as our backup. We could do worse I guess.
