Boston has a very good, deep team. Clubs in those situations have a plethora of options, not few. You can shop Kessel and if the prospective returns are unappealing for a scorer of his caliber, you can shop someone else.
The notion that Boston will have to deal Kessel for a song is a fantasy. The notion that Boston is required to deal Kessel at all is misplaced. They are required to get under the salary cap, and how they choose to do so is up to them.
