What time does the draft start and is it on VS?
4pm, yes. I'm not sure if they're just going to show the TSN feed or have their own coverage, though. Hopefully it the former.

MacKenzie is saying Isles take Hedman.

http://www.tsn.ca/draftcentre/feature/?id=11904

Might make things interesting as Tampa may opt to trade down. Leafs could dangle Schenn + 7th + Kaberle.

JJ + 5th + Boyle + <blank> for Tavares? Will be very difficult to outbid Burke.

I cannot see Burke trading Schenn....even to get Tavares.....but if Dean could deal Johnson, Moller, the 5th and the 35th pick.....I would take it and run.

Just for Tavares?

I would probably take Duchene over Tavares. Still, I think trading more than 2 extra asset (on top of the 5th) to move up 3 spots in quite enough. 5th pick, Moller and a 2nd this year or next is about as rich as my blood gets for such a trade.

Dreams of Duchene are fun. I love speed, which is why I like MPS a lot, but I've decided I'm too worried about MPS busting to want to pick him unless we move down to 7, which I don't really think we should.

Even still, I've been hoping for the past few months that Hedman will go number one. I think it will have a very cool ripple effect that will make for a much more exciting draft day. It will open up the opportunity to make a VERY good deal or a very BAD deal...

With the cap, Tampa ownership problems, DL's ego, Burke's ego, and the quality of UFA, this could be one hell of a draft. After the Islanders take Taveras or Hedman anything could happen.

I would expect Hedman, Tavares & Duchene to be picked top 3. My preference for the Kings would be to take Kane or Schenn, whichever player isn't picked 4th. If Kane is picked 4th and Lombardi wants MPS, I would expect Lombardi to be on the phone with Burke. Then Schenn would go 5th and Cowan 6th, with the Kings taking MPS 7th.

MPS should not be taken with the 5th pick.

gunnar svensson, father of MPS and player agent, doesn't believe that the kings will pick his son. he is sure that it'll be a canadian player.

since the source is in swedish only, he's a google translation:

Didn't NHL.com stream it last year?

Or did I imagine that?

Probably true, I think it is well-known now that LA is high on both Kane and Schenn and will take one of the two (given availability) if they keep the pick... If things play out as predicted, they are poised to take Schenn.

Nazem Kadri

Hey, so looking forward to tomorrows draft.. If we DO trade down.. What do you guys know about Nazem Kadri? I've seen highlights and from what I've seen.. I like him. But I don't know much about him..

Would he be a good pick?

yeah he is that good that he moved down from # 7 to # 28 in professional scouting.
You guy should stop going after stats or highligh videos...
if i put a highlight video on youtube, the scouts call me back.......
but i'm one of the worst hockey players ever........ i believe so

We probably do not need a thread for every draft eligible prospect in this year's draft.

This could have been added to the draft thread.

Nah, there is another player I would want over Kadri at almost every position if we move down. Perhaps if we move down past 15-17 and Kadri was still there I would consider him. I would probably take any of LeBlanc, Kassian, Holland, Josefson, Rundblad, Glennie, Moore or Ellis over Kadri. Nothing I've ever heard, read or seen about him has really interested me all that much.

Believing every scouting report is only a step above basing your opinion on watching highlights. I'd like to know which source you're taking this from because most scouting reports I've seen rank him top 15.

Sounds like a good idea... Someone should do something... oh wait...

I think Kadri is a good player, but if we traded down to 7, I would want Cowan or MSP. I wonder how much interest Dean and crew really have in MSP given the defensive stuff I hear about him -- from HF's MSP prospect page:

Quote:
Defensively, he has throughout his career as a junior been considered as a sloppy player with not enough willingness to back check and to the dirty work.
I think that is a huge red light in the DL philosophy department. I would only hope that they overcome it and decide to risk it and develop the kid's backcheck because his speed and hands are phenomenal. If we go down to seven, I would expect us to take MSP, but I have a feeling we will end up with Cowan in that situation.

Hey, is there a draft party at Hollywood and Highland again this year, or how is that working? Is it STH-only?
