Kings have interest in Clowe according to Evans

Ryan Clowe's name came up today in trade circles here in MTL. From what I've heard, the Kings have shown interest. DE #nhl

I don't know why they wouldn't. I don't see SJ being interested in dealing him here.

I would expect so. He is a good upcoming player and fits the age-group. I wouldn't mind seeing him in LA depending on the price tag.

Not that I care if the Heater comes to LA or not. But did anyone perhaps think it was a smoke screen on Hexy`s behalf to maybe lower Heatleys trade value a bit?

Also....I dont think Burke did Murray or the Senators any favors by his blast off on Heatley in the media. I think if anything it handcuffed the Senators and Murray even more lol. I bet that was calculated.

I'd be thrilled if we ended up drafting. It will be a long time until the Kings draft this high again, might as well take advantage.

Jr is getting big, and that includes big for his britches as well!

I will probably take a peek at what's available, but I like where we sit, although if i could move down on the aisle, I'd consider it. I can't wait til about 4:30 tomorrow so all this stupid trade rumor crap is put to rest. I'll be at the ESPN zone (thanks to DeeMeck) to soak it all in. I'm just praying that when DL makes the pick its not like two years ago where averybody scratches their head and says "WHY HIM."

"The Senators want Dustin Brown PLUS more for Heatley? That's the talk. Isn't Brown enough? #nhldraft "

"Nazem Kadri, who the Senators supposedly like, is also coveted by the Kings, who pick 5th but also are trying to trade for Dany Heatley. ... "

grain of salt...

I've heard the Kadri interest from other media sources as well, if Ottawa is asking for Brown they will have to learn to live with disappointment.

while i know 5 years from now i'll be wrong, i think it's time to go for the homerun. Whether that means trading the pick for a player or trading up, i'd like to get more than a slightly above-average player(Schenn)

If Bryan Murray thinks he's getting Brown for Heatley straight up, he's on crack. Regardless of stats, Brown is the more valuable player.

Not a twitter but from Helene Elliott of LA TIMES

Lombardi denied rumors that he's the top suitor for disgruntled Ottawa left wing Dany Heatley with a package consisting of winger Alexander Frolov, an unspecified top-notch defenseman, and the No. 5 pick.

"I have a little bit of concern when it's the second time the way this has happened. If we're going to bring in a guy like that we've got to look at it closely, positive and negative," Lombardi said, referring to Heatley's requests to be traded by Atlanta and, more recently, Ottawa.

"The second part of that, don't forget this is very different than a free agent. In terms of what their version of what it would take to move him, that was fairly steep in my mind. . . . They're not going to give this guy away, nor should they."

He also said he has "nothing going on" with Tampa Bay for Vincent Lecavalier, whose 11-year, $85-million extension kicks in next season.

"If you made a deal for Heatley or Lecavalier, that basically takes you out of free agency," Lombardi said.
