by some crazy accident he gets injured between now and draft on Friday and is out for a year, thus losing serious development time and essentially the whole season. The injury is nothing to serious but may persist in the future (like a knee or shoulder)

All just speculation but im wondering if teams would then pass on him for a more sure bet.

Plus I dont know if he will go #1 on Friday but for beggars sake lets say he would.

Would your team still take the chance if he suffered say an EJ injury?

What IF I won the powerball. What's the point of this? I'd still take EJ. There still young enough and the talent is still there reguardless.

If that were to happen, he'd be behind Hedman and Duchene at least. Probably 4-7 range.

See thats what the point of it is, i was just wondering if anyone else would see him drop a small bit like me. I would see him drop to at least 3 with Hedman and Duchene going before him.

Oh and what if you won the powerball.....the whole trade thread is almost all what if proposal's, so how is this any difference its just draft related thats all.

The 07 draft had a decent number of good 1st rounders... wasn't Mikael Backlund projected to go top 10 before suffering a knee injury... he only missed part of that season and saw himself slip 15 spots or so.. so its not unfathomable for him to even drop out of the top 10
