Straight up? heh

The talk is Brown, another player, and the 5th pick.

Brown hasnt done anything in this league or even outside of it i.e. for Team Canada to even compare him to Dany Heatley.

You can talk about the value of his contract all you want an all but he will never be worth 6 7 8 million superstar dollars, nor will players of Heatley caliber be worth anything less.

What drives up the price and hurts the market are players like Drury or Gomez making 7-8 million dollars, not superstars like Heatley.

The talk is what Ott wanted and isn't going to get. So what? DL isn't going to move his captain for a malcontent. That would go against everything he has been preaching since he's been here.

You are out of your mind if you think the Kings are trading their captain for Dany Heatley. Basically, it isn't happening.

I doubt that very many on the Kings board would trade Brownie for Heatley straight up, let alone Brown + prospects/players and picks. I'd personally rather pay 5-6/mil to Tanguay, than waste 7.5 on Heatley. Brown is extremely valuable to this team, and could very well turn into one of the top power forwards in the game. Thanks for your insight (err...opinion) on the issue though. He also doesn't play for team Canada. He's an American, and has played very well for the US team in international tournaments. Consider him a lock for the Olympic team.

That's because Brown plays for team USA, not team Canada. He'll be on the Olympic team in 2010.

Unbelievable.

I will probably take a peek at what's available, but I like where we sit, although if i could move down on the aisle, I'd consider it. I can't wait til about 4:30 tomorrow so all this stupid trade rumor crap is put to rest. I'll be at the ESPN zone (thanks to DeeMeck) to soak it all in. I'm just praying that when DL makes the pick its not like two years ago where averybody scratches their head and says "WHY HIM."
haha, tell him I say hello!! Yah I was going to go to the ESPN thing but I had some things come up. I hope you guys can get back to our section. i agree with you, I want this to be over with so that the rumors will stop, and we can go down to TSC to watch some hockey!!

From the latest Hexy video I have a strong suspicion LA will go after Gaborik, Hossa.
Heatley is not coming to town unless it's bargain basement shopping in Ottawa.

The players are saying they need a left winger....upper management is saying they need a left winger....fans are saying they need a left winger....solution? Trade for Souray.

I don't think so.

From my name you can tell that I follow the Ducks. I don't understand all the postings that say the Kings are interested in Heatly for Brown plus the 5th pick. They must be smoking something really powerful. In my opiniion Brown is a much better player, has more character, is a leader, and does not asked to be traded every other year. Anyone who think Lombardi will even ertertain even a straight up trade is crazy.

No king fan is advocating trading Brown to Ottawa for Heatley.

I don't think you can say Brown is a much better on-ice player...quite the opposite actually.

If there are absolute untouchables on the Kings they are Doughty and Brown. Doughty because his potential is endless, and Brown because he took a pretty big hometown discount to keep his family here. Nobody has Kings on their butt more than Brown. He participates in about every off-season function and is the face of the Kings. Trading Brown would forever sink the reputation of DL and the Kings. It just won't happen.
