If you were Montreal, which of the 2 players would you keep. There's also a neither option if you would go a different direction and keep neither player. I'd like to restrict this to just non-habs fans if possible. Thanks guys.
Keep in mind I'm not trying to say that either or both of them need to leave. This is solely for argument's sake. If money were tight and you could only keep one of the two, or opt to let both walk and go in a different direction, which would you choose. Thanks again.
Kovalev. Honestly, I think Kovalevs lack of character has been blown out of proportion. I think the way he plays the game makes him look like he's not trying and thats why he draws criticism. Correct me if I'm wrong but when he was young he had a lot of heart problems and wasn't able to show a great amount of intensity when practicing hockey I think this still translates to his game today. He plays hockey at a very slow slow slow pace.
He's the more valuable player. Koivu is the ultimate example of a good bad team player. He's a 50 points two way center. I'd take Kovalev over him any day. Neither guy is a particularly good leader.
They are evil! And they do not provide the grit necessary to win championships.
Draft only undersized Quebec born players and no-heart Euros.
Are you saying the habs don't draft western candians? I think thats a bit of a myth to be honest. They have guys like Gorges and Price(price specifically considering he is there franchise) and a guy like Chipchura coming up through the farm
I would keep Koivu, and that doesn't mean I think he is the more talented player, Kovalev obviously is but with Koivu you know what you are getting, with Kovalev, you don't know whether the all world player or the guy who doesn't seem to care about the game, is going to show up that year.
I'd let Kovalev go and try to sign another player in the $6-7 million range to take his place.
