Did you really trade Jack Johnson and the 96th pick for the 47th, 112th and Bobby Sanguinetti?

Ill go with it.

I think if Duchene does go #1. Then the Kings will move for the #3.

To LA: 3rd overall

To Col: 5th overall, Bernier, Teubert.

Now...Not saying I agree with it but I think thats what Colorado will want and what it will cost to move up into the Mega Chip count.

With the 35th pick the Kings will take Zach Budish.

Yeah, don't really feel all that bad or dirty about it surprisingly. Picked up Rajala with the 47.

May have loss a little toughness on the back end but we can pick up a UFA to fill in

Seems expensive to move up 2 spots.

I like Hedman and all... But I would be happier to keep Teubert, Bernier, and draft Kane or Schenn.

Lost alot in the Tavares deal and felt I needed to move up in the draft. I like JJ and all but I see him becoming redundant in LA. Sangs was a little cupboard insurance.

All you are telling me is you don't want the re-build to end.

Tavares is no more proven than Teubert or Moller, not to mention you added Schenn and Tatar in with the picks...isn't this like a Gretzky package?

Then Johnson is gone for another unproven in Sanguinetti. At least with JJ you kinda know what you're getting.

I wouldn't grade you very well at all.

I'm not sold on either of Teubert and Moller and would much rather have JT.

Johnson is what he is, I'm meh about him now. If anything I probably could have walked away with Dubinsky, Anisimov instead of Sangs but I had already dealt Teubert.

Tatar was hard to give up but Rajala has just as much promise.

Schenn was taken at four I believe.

OK...so you gave up Moller, Teubert, Kane I assume, and Tatar for Tavares...thats even worse.

I just don't see Tavares as a can't miss superstar, but you are treating him like he is. I see him having a good career in the NHL...but I don't even know if he is better than Stamkos.

Look, I'm not trying to offend you and I posted this knowing the critisim I'd garnish. It was all in good fun. I do think JT is a game changer and and in a class above said players. The kings have the depth to move those prospects but I totally understand if you feel it's overpayment.

I did my best to move back up and take him but alas no Tatar sauce coming to LA.

Very unfortunate choice of words.

LOL...I'm not offended. You were asking for a grade...it is a pretty big splash to make in a draft...but I think moving those 4 pretty big assets would have been better suited in a deal for Malkin or something, not a guy who has stumbled a bit like Tavares.

I would also give your draft a D. I respect the effort that you put into it and it is well thought out, I just completely disagree with the low value that you have given some of our top young players.

Trading players who have established themselves as NHL caliber players for speculative picks even though they may be highly regarded seems to bite teams in the tail most of the time.

Look at our miserable trade of Squid plus a first round pick for Colten T. there is some question as to if he will pan out to be the nasty 2nd pairing d man with some potential that he was touted as becoming during his draft, we gave up a multi faceted established young sniper plus a high draft pick in a deep draft for an un proven young guy.

I still feel that C.T. has the potential to live up to his draft hype but even then he won't compare to the value of squid plus a number of other talented young d who were available at the slot for the included pick.

In short, OH looks to be the real deal but with our depth and DD, I would rather keep adding to a system that is bursting at the seems through the draft and allowing that wealth to help us deal from a position of strength, rather than speculation all of the time.

I just have serious doubts about Moller and Teubert.

I like Moller and it sounds like hockey people love the guy but he needs to get bigger.

Teubert could be a monster or he might not. I hope he turns out to be the guy we all want him to be. Myers seems awefully good right now which is going to haunt Teubert until he establishes himself. (It will at least haunt me)

Don't think it wouldn't haunt Lombardi either. We had the #12 pick, and traded it to Buffalo for the #13 and they threw a 3rd in for us this year.

They got Myers, we got Teubert.
