Hey everyone, I know the other thread was closed on this but I have (IMO) a few more important points that I wanted to bring up as well. I don't have the official link, but shortly after the press conference announcing the Brent Sutter was now the Flames head coach, he did interview on the Fan 960 which I heard. In the interview he spoke about his relationship with Lou and how much respect and admiration he had for the man. He said repeatedly that the Devils are an organization of such class. And he stated how Lou was like a father figure to him and he will continue to be friends with him for a long time.
He later eluded to that he and Lou had an understanding. He said that the conversations they had between them this past season and especially after the season concluded will forever remain in confidence and were between them. I think it is also important to bring up that, when he took the job he said he and Lou had an understanding between them and that the job would pretty much be on a season to season evaluation that if Brent would continue to be the coach. And Lou apparently agreed to those terms and was ok with that.
I only bring up these points because I feel it is important to conduct yourself in a ethical manner when you are a public figure. And I feel based on some of these facts, that was the case here. There should be no reason for anyone to call anyone whiner's on either side. It appears that Lou and Brent both respect each other alot. If this was not the case, Darryl would not of been given permission to hire Brent.
It just amuses me how the media throws out accusations and labels people rats or whatever. And in the process they are outsiders and have absolutely no knowledge as to what was said privately between 2 people. But they still feel that they are in a position to point the finger and accuse people of wrong doing. I feel good about what happened and I feel Brent is a man of integrity and I don't feel he would of misled Lou in anyway based on his comments.
Honestly I could care less what any reporters, media persons and even NJ fans think. That article was so over the top and just ridiculous. Sutter is the flames coach now and that is all that matters. I'm sure this crap won't even phase or bother a guy like Sutter.
