around the 27 second mark

Lombardi, joking about keeping Brayden Schenn away from Brian Burke:

I like that the Kings kept the pick. Possibly now maybe a huge trade for the Kings is in the offing. I like Schenn more than Lewis and Boyle, not to say that Lewis and Boyle are bad prospects.

I wonder what a forward most notable for his intangibles, verses his skating and sniping ability, brings to a team who has a lot of players with intangibles. I suppose our cup is beginning to runneth over in that department.

Side note: Did Brayden look happy at all?

I could give a damn about Burke's reaction. The Leafs are irrelevant to our future.

You guys are so loaded with young talent, it's not fair! I'm itching to do an NHL '09 dynasty with LA after I add Schenn to the Kings

No but he's a sure fire NHL prospect unlikes MPS who is more of a boom or bust pick.

I'm surprised it took 3 hours for the baseless speculation to begin. Thanks for picking up the slack.

Eh, I would think Schenn is now priority and someone else would be moved over to wing.

Or Dean could use 5 or 6 of his 12 remaining picks to get some wingers.

Shut up... He didn't look happy. Thats all I was saying. Kid looked nervous as hell. So take your baseless speculation to my speculation and get out of here.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puc...urn=nhl,173137

In speaking to Brayden Schenn yesterday, the potential to join his brother is paramount in his thoughts.

"It's hard not to be in the back of your mind [because of] where I'm ranked and where the Leafs are picking. I'm certainly in their range," he said.

It's also clear from talking to him that, in our opinion, the guy wants to be a Leaf. Sure, he was the usual diplomatic prospect paying lip service to the other suitors, but one can tell in talking to him where he's like to start his NHL career.

Go Rage at Puck Daddy for the baseless speculation.

On a side note. Im really happy with the Schenn pick. I love the toughness in that bloodline. I think hes going to surprise a bunch of people come camp time.
